The year 2020 has been full of unsuspecting events even with less than two months before the year comes to an end there seem to be more surprises than hope for. One of the major events that took place during the year 2020 was the upraise of civil unrest when it comes to systemic racism. Systemic racism is rooted into the museum establishment. Calls for changes in the museum can be heard from the very own people that work for these institutions. For, this module on labor I want to talk about how art workers are decrying the treatment of people of color, who have worked for and are currently working for museums. What I want to investigate is what systemic racism looks like in the art world? How professionalism can disguise racism. How the pandemic of Corona Virus has exposed the vast firing of people of color than compared to their white counterpart. And what are some retaliations the worker receive when they do speak out against racism in their institution, whether it be a white employee or a person of color. But mainly what options do the workers have to stopping systemic racism?
